I wanted to create a feeling of calmness, strength and quiet confidence. There is no need for movement or drama; her stillness becomes the source of her power. She appears completely at ease, yet there is an awareness in her expression, as though she is quietly observing everything around her.

The cool mist surrounding her creates a gentle sense of distance and atmosphere, allowing the warmth of the brown tones to stand out. I wanted the contrast between the warmth of the animal and the coolness of the morning to give the painting a peaceful, almost timeless quality.

For me, this painting is about finding strength in stillness — a reminder that sometimes you don't need to move forward to show power. Sometimes simply standing your ground and looking ahead says everything.
