Gentle Soul captures the quiet beauty and inquisitive nature of this cow as it looks directly towards you. There is something wonderfully engaging in its gaze — a sense of curiosity, intelligence and gentle awareness, as though it is quietly wondering who you are.

I wanted to capture more than the animal itself. I wanted to capture that special moment of connection when its inquisitive nature draws you in, while also reflecting something deeper — the instinct to keep looking, keep wondering and always be searching for more.

Using my own specially created palette knives, I have built the painting through layers of texture, colour and movement, allowing the cow’s personality and gentle spirit to emerge from the canvas.

For me, Gentle Soul is about curiosity, connection and the desire to never stop exploring. It reflects not only the inquisitive nature of the cow, but something I feel within myself as an artist — always searching for more, always learning, and always striving to achieve more.
